New features for FanPride, my sports Facebook app that wall posts when your team plays

FanPride is my facebook application that I built 2 months ago that automatically wall posts every time your favorite NFL team plays.  Being a sports fan I always wanted to build something that relates to Facebook and watching a sports game.

I made several changes to the app since I first launched it.  The biggest feature I added is the ability for users to vote and root for a team.  Take a look at this example of the Kansas City Chiefs vs Denver Broncos game this is the page people are redirected to when FanPride posts to your wall.

Before it just took users to the main app page to see the upcoming games which was not that exciting, now I think this spices up the fun of the app.

Here is a quick video demo of the new features and just walking through the app.

Another known issue was the dropdown menu didn’t select your team after you saved it, this has been fixed.

I was really excited to learn that the new voting features for FanPride works great on the Facebook iPhone app.

After you click on the wall post on your iPhone app, it will take you to the voting page which works great!

The reason I called it FanPride instead of FootballPride is because I plan to expand this app out to more sports once I get the time to develop it more.  I eventually want this to handle MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL.  I think it would also be cool to have some sort of point system….so my idea is this, after the game is finished the amount of votes you have for your team, if they win, you get that number added to your total points….if you lose you get those points deducted.  I’m still brainstorming on all this but think this app will be really useful for sports fans to use.  I am thinking about building out a site for it outside of Facebook and possibly have Twitter integration where it sends out a tweet when your team plays.

Always looking for feedback!
