UPDATE: Just got tweeted from Charlie Murphy, regarding his site:
"I know. Its an old design and we're revamping and updating everything"
Glad he is aware of things and look forward checking out his new site!
I'm a big fan of Charlie Murphy, I think he is hilarious. I actually got to see him in Denver on his tour for my birthday last year. Recently, I was watching the Dave Chappelle episode of Rick James and swear I could watch that numerous times in a row before it ever got old to me. I decided to google Charlie Murphy and find his official site and to see if he had twitter. To my surprise he had both….
After viewing his website I could not tell you how horrendous it was. The image that they used for him was pixellated. See for yourself at http://www.charliemurphycomedy.com. Not to mention the content is built in flash which is terrible for search engines. Being a comedian, it's very important to expand your brand, especially all over search engines. Not only was the content built in flash, the entire site was.
I noticed at the bottom the year says 2006, that's way too long for someone to update their site with a new layout. His facebook page and twitter seem to be updated regularly which is good, but he shouldn't abandon his official site. His official site should be a hub of information which feeds his facebook and twitter.
Would really like to work with more public figures on how they can improve their online brands.
Charlie, please fire whoever is doing your online stuff.
