Attention music artists, start using SoundCloud instead of other file sharing sites

There are several important factors why I think SoundCloud is the best site for music artists to share their music. Having built several relationships with music artists for digital strategy, I feel it’s important for them to all know that SoundCloud is a must have service.

If you have videos on YouTube and want to build an audience, it’s important to have users subscribe to your YouTube channel to simply be alerted of your new videos.  If you post a new video and share it on Facebook and Twitter and 50% of the people following you weren’t logged on to catch the link on their stream, chances are they won’t even know you uploaded it. That is why subscriptions are very important for building your digital empire.

SoundCloud offers the same feature as YouTube’s subscription, theirs is called follow. Make sure that your fans are following you on SoundCloud, this is very important.

SoundCloud offers a great mobile experience with their apps: iOS | Android

As more people are using their mobile phones to stay updated, SoundCloud offers a great way of staying connected with music artists on SoundCloud by simplying following them.  Once they post a new song you will get alerted via mobile notification and be able to listen and download the song right on your mobile device. This is big! Too many sites I see, artists are blasting links, sharing their music which is NOT mobile compatible. SoundCloud offers a great mobile experience even without an app, just go to soundcloud.com on your mobile browser.

Artists are missing out on a huge audience by blasting links to other sites that offer free file sharing because they are NOT mobile compatible. Make it user friendly for your audience for both mobile and pc.

Using other file sharing sites to store your music, you often can’t show the previous songs you uploaded, only a link to the current song you are linking fans to. With SoundCloud you can create an embeddable playlist to place on your website.

I recently helped hip hop artist Paul Wall.  He mentioned he wanted to leak a track every week and call it #PaulWallWednesday. I recommended using SoundCloud for this and his stats are really impressive. His fans easily stay connected with him and he built his following with his music using SoundCloud. I also made Paul a custom Facebook app where his fans can listen to on his Facebook page. Since he started working with me, we got his following on Google+ to over 900,000! (More than Mark Zuckerberg :D ).  I really hope Google+ can integrate 3rd party sites better on their platform, right now if I post a SoundCloud link on G+ you can’t play the song right on my stream, I have to click the link and listen to it on SoundCloud.com.

SoundCloud’s pricing is WORTH investing into because it’s so affordable.

I love to support great products and think SoundCloud is just that.
