The above google analytics charts show when I started using Google analytics (wish I used them 2 years prior) and when I switched to another google analytics account, this is for 1 year  period (2007-2008) when I ran a network of fan sites I created.

I was going through Google analytics and came across my fan site network I built from 2003-2009. I was pretty blown away to look back at the stats and wanted to share them.  I built a total of 118 websites as a fan site network.  At the time (2003ish), music artists and record labels lacked building the right website for a music artist. Their websites were so plain and boring with site updates of just their album coming out which was once a year and a few pictures.  This was my niche with fan sites, provide daily/weekly content updates about an artist and capture a way to make a visitor return back. I got most of my content the long and grueling way, manually searching other sites and reposting them while giving a source link. Then I built a message board and was feeding my sites content through that, I had it built so certain sites would get the right content. The message board grew to over 100,000 users and the content was user generated, bye bye manual work. I noticed the traffic started going down in 2008 and 2009, artists started building their own websites more and slowly started getting more into social media (Myspace, Facebook, Twitter).  This started to destroy my unique niche I built.  Every day since I departed my ways with these sites I have been patiently waiting to build something new and bigger, hopefully that’s not my biggest accomplishment.
