If you have an android and ever had that problem where all of a sudden you notice your Facebook notifications are not appearing on your phone, I have found a solution.

At first I thought it was an update that caused this but after doing the following it helped completely to get notifications back on my Android phone.

First check to see if you have the notifications turned on.  Open up the Facebook app, click the menu button, click settings, make sure the notifications is checked along with the notification settings such as messages, friend requests etc.

Now what you need to do is clear the app’s data and cache. On your phone’s home screen press the menu button, click settings, scroll down till you see applications then click manage applications, find Facebook and click  on clear data, this will also clear your cache. I don’t know if this is required but try restarting your phone and click Facebook app. You should have to sign in again and should start seeing the notifications.

I don’t know how often you will have to do this, Facebook really needs to update the android app.  I use the new messaging system on Facebook but the android app prevents me from using it because it’s not set up yet. iPhone apps always get updated before android, wish they were both updated simultaneously.
