After several wannabe rappers on the streets trying to sell their mixtapes like it's 1995 I noticed a few things they need to work on….
Tip #1: Do not use office depot CD-Rs, that looks wack. The CDs should have a blank label with your info on it.
Tip #2: Also your contact info should be on all the CDs, how else are people suppose to know where to get more material from?
Tip #3: Do not write your info on the CD with a sharpie, use a laser etched technology (like LightScribe). Would you show up to a job interview in jeans and a shirt or slacks and a button up, ya dig?
Tip #4: Label your track names and album correctly with ID3 tags so when a potential fan loads the CD into iTunes it says all the track names, album title and show the CD artwork.
Tip #5: Album cover should have your contact info on it such as your website, myspace url, facebook url and an email address.
Online: Use www.datpiff.com to help spread your mixtape online, they got a great efficient service.
